"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

A successful launch for HILLFEST 2022

HILLFEST: A Celebration of our Community and the creative arts

Festival vibes were in the air last Friday when the entire school put their creative talents on display in a whole afternoon celebrating our wonderful community.

Music performances, drama recitals, dance routines as well as art displays and a photographic exhibition by our artist of residence, Michael Clement, were all on show for parents to watch and students to enjoy.

The afternoon started with performances from each year group in our Junior School – the Umbrella in the playground and a stage created on the Astro were alive with musical as well as dance performances. Reception’s performance of `The Seargent Major told his troops’ was followed by Years 1 and 2 showing their country dancing skills. Year 3 sang the ever popular `Bare Necessities’ followed by Year 4 performing`I love the flowers’ and Year 5 `three unlucky men’. A selection of choreographed dance routines by Years 4, 5 and 6 completed the afternoon.

Our Senior School stage kicked off with a performance by the staff band which was followed by performances from A-cappella , Jazz band, the Year 7 Rock band and a series of soloists. Ami impressed us with her beautiful rendition of ‘Summertime’, Bella’s interpretation of Sondheim’s ‘Losing my mind’ was hugely emotive and Year 7s Katerina and Josephine performed with real confidence. The finale of the evening was a resurrection of the favourite Addams Family songs by the Year 10-12 cast.

Pimms, ice cream – as well as BBQ and a Bar area managed by our wonderful Parents Guild, were also on offer. And our Sunflowers for Ukraine were on sale – managed by our amazing Sixth Form team who sold in excess of £200 for Unicef – raising that total to over £3000.
