Notting Hill & Ealing High Senior School
As an all-through girls school for pupils from Reception through to Secondary and Sixth Form, we aim to provide a consistent journey of discovery from age 4 to 18.
At Senior school, we offer more than just a path to top grades. The latest ISI Report noted how our teachers’ use of ‘skilful questioning’ promotes debate and encourages girls to take risks in their learning. This approach inspires a genuine love of learning and an intellectual curiosity that extends far beyond the curriculum.
We believe that academic success and emotional wellbeing go hand-in-hand. By ensuring every girl feels supported and confident, we empower them to explore their unique interests and reach their full potential.

NHEHS 11+ Entry FAQsWhen should we register our daughter for the 11+?
For entry in September 2027, the deadline to register your daughter is mid-November 2026. We always recommend completing the online registration form as early as possible so you stay up-to-date with all the key admissions news and event reminders.
How many students join the Senior School at 11+?We usually welcome around 50–55 new students from a wide variety of primary and prep schools. They join approximately 40–45 pupils moving up from our own Junior School. We take great care to blend these groups together, ensuring that by the end of the first week, every girl feels like she’s part of our NHEHS family.
What does the 11+ assessment involve? There are three simple parts to your daughter’s application:
- The entrance test: Held in late November or early December, this is a computer-based assessment. To make things easy, she can sit this at her current school (if they host it) or at any Consortium school she is applying to.
- The school reference: We’ll contact her current school in late November for a confidential reference to help us understand her strengths and character.
- The interview: In January, we invite all applicants for a short, informal interview where we get the chance to meet in person and hear about her passions!
What does the testing process involve? We are part of the London 11+ Consortium test and all 14 schools in the Consortium share the same 11+ admissions test. For 11+ 2027 admissions, the Consortium is using a bespoke entrance test, which will be taken online and will consist of five modules, in this order: Maths; Non-Verbal Reasoning; English comprehension and verbal reasoning; Problem Solving, and Analysis. The test takes 100 minutes to complete, and applicants will be given a break part-way through.
The first three sections of the test are adaptive, which means that the level of difficulty of the questions adapts according to the responses provided by applicants. The final two sections are non-adaptive, and will differ on each of the three exam dates to ensure the security of the test.
How should my daughter prepare for the test?No special preparation is required and although practice tests are not available, we understand, that familiarity with the test format can help girls feel more confident and composed on the day of the assessment. Familiarisation materials will be made available on the London 11+ Consortium website in the autumn.
We encourage you to review these materials with your daughter to ensure she is comfortable with the nature and style of the assessment. Whilst a degree of practice can be helpful in building confidence, we do not encourage repeated practice; we are far more interested in seeing your daughter’s natural approach to problem-solving and her individual academic potential.
When will we hear if our daughter has been offered a place? We know that waiting for news can be an anxious time for families, so we aim to be as clear as possible about the timeline. For 11+ entry in 2027:
- Offer day: Offers will be sent out on Friday, 12th February 2027.
- Accepting a place: You will have until Wednesday, 3rd March (by 12 noon) to make your final decision. To secure her place, you’ll just need to submit the paperwork and the deposit.
- The waiting list: If your daughter is placed on the waiting list, we will keep you updated as soon as a space becomes available. This movement can happen anytime up until the end of the summer holidays.
We live abroad – can my daughter apply? We welcome international applications and can arrange for assessments to be conducted at your daughter’s current school, or if not, at a local professional venue (such as a British Council office). Please note that students must have UK resident status via a parent’s visa, as we are not currently licensed for student visa sponsorship. Interviews will be conducted online.
