Adventure and Teamwork on the Water: Year 7 Bonding Day

Earlier this month Year 7 visited Thames Young Mariners in Richmond for a bonding day. They were divided into groups to encourage new friendships and teamwork. Their first task was to build a raft using barrels, logs, and rope, which they then launched and paddled across the lake. Later, the students enjoyed kayaking in the lovely sunshine, playing various games, and learning how to manoeuvre the kayaks on the water.

Year 7 Betsy B said, “I really enjoyed the bonding day. I really liked it when we went kayaking in the afternoon although the bird poo didn’t smell that pleasant. The raft building activity really improved our teamwork skills and we managed to win the race at the end which was very fun. The bonding day really helped me make more friends as I didn’t know the people in my group very well.”
