"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Careers Workshops for Years 7, 8 and 10

Our Senior School students enjoyed three different dynamic Careers Workshops over the last three weeks led by Bright Futures.

Year 7 took part in an ‘Enterprise and Entrepreneurship’ workshop, working in teams to develop their enterprise skills and learning about the ‘3 Ps’ of modern business: Profit, Planet and People. A social enterprise challenge saw the teams design and make a branded product to be sold at a partner event and perfected a 90-second presentation to pitch it to organisers.

Year 8 enjoyed a ‘Business Brains’ careers workshop. Competing against each other in small teams, pupils had to rebrand a failing product with logo and slogan in an environment designed to recreate a real marketplace. A profit-making activity wrapped up the workshop with their business accounts revealed at the end.

Year 10s took part in an ‘employability and enterprise’ careers day. The activity-based session included a kinesthetic colour-coding activity to analyse systems and illustrate the importance of efficiency, an insight into the recruitment process, practising interview skills and product selling sales pitches, and culminated in a ‘live trading’ activity making investment choices and managing risk and reward.
