"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Celebrating Another Year of A Level Excellence

Huge congratulations to our A Level students who today celebrated an impressive set of results, with 26% of entries graded at A*, 65% graded A* or A, and 91% A* to B.

Among the 71 students in the cohort, 36 received AAA or better and 33 students achieved at least one A* grade, reflecting the school’s continued commitment to academic excellence and individual success.

Our students are going on to study a rich variety of subjects next year, including dentistry, motor sport engineering, marine biology, ecology and conservation, architecture, aerospace engineering, liberal arts, equine management, medical genetics, and Greek, Arabic and Spanish.  Our most popular university destinations include Durham, Edinburgh, UCL, Bristol, Oxford and Cambridge.

Commenting on this year’s outcomes, Mrs Saunders said, “These fantastic results are testament to the hard work, ambition and determination of our students and to the support and dedication of their teachers. While I’ve only known this cohort for a short time, I have been so impressed by their energy, talent and creativity and I am delighted to see what they have achieved in their results. I have no doubt they will thrive in the wide variety of university courses they have chosen and I’m excited to see what they will go on to achieve beyond school.”

Students commented on the care and individual attention which they enjoyed in the Sixth Form. Deputy Head Girl, Nirupama K, who will be heading to Cambridge to read Economics, said: “I’m incredibly grateful for the dedicated support from my teachers in all subjects and through the whole UCAS process. I’m very excited to be moving on to the University of Cambridge now!”

Hope G, Deputy Head Girl, who will be studying Classics at the University of Edinburgh, said: “It’s been an incredible experience doing Classics at school, with a large cohort of students supporting each other throughout senior school.”

The results are also a testament to the school’s teaching and learning culture, which prizes inspiration and love of learning. In a national picture where institutions offer fewer subjects, it is so pleasing that our students have done well across such a wide range of subjects (27, including History of Art and Politics).

Our top-performing department this year was Design & Technology with 100% of students receiving A*s. Other standout subjects included Art & Design, Greek, Latin, History of Art and Spanish, which all achieved 100% A* and A grades. Economics and Government & Politics, subjects rapidly growing in popularity at NHEHS in recent years, received 91% and 86% A* and A grades respectively. Our strong reputation in STEM subjects continues with Further Maths gaining 100% and Physics 78% of A* and A grades.

Well done to everyone!
