“Pupils of all ages demonstrate a love of learning and a desire to develop their aptitudes and interests.”

- ISI Report 2025

"We believe that Sixth Form should be the most interesting, enriching and academically demanding years of your school life. Each year, pupils join us with the intellectual spark and curiosity to take advantage of everything NHEHS has to offer, and leave with the drive and determination for their next adventure."

"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Charities and Volunteering Update – November 2025

We will be holding school collections from Monday 24 November to Monday 1 December. Thank you in advance for your support.

Care 4 Calais (C4C)

We continue to support Care 4 Calais and the families living in the Hayes hotel, where our students regularly visit to run games and craft sessions.

This Christmas, we hope to provide each child with a festive chocolate treat. Donations of 100g Lindt chocolate reindeers, Santas or similar would be greatly appreciated.

We are also collecting:

  • Adult winter coats
  • Men’s casual/sports clothing (all sizes)
  • Women’s casual/sports clothing (sizes 10–12)
  • White long-sleeved school shirts (ages 4–16)
  • Black school trousers (ages 10–16)
  • Prams/pushchairs (including doubles)

Monetary donations can be made via ParentPay. Please bring all contributions to the Atrium from 24 November.

Age UK Ealing

Our students have long supported Age UK through Christmas card-making, hamper packing and festive singing. This year, they are seeking donations for their seasonal hampers for older people in Ealing who may be isolated.

Requested items include:
Gloves, hats, fluffy socks, scarves, candles, chocolates, biscuits, tea, coffee, puzzles, puzzle books, board games, playing cards, toiletries (male/female), body and hand creams, and handwash/hand cream sets.

EWNS (Ealing Winter Night Shelter)

We continue our partnership with EWNS, which provides warm meals and overnight shelter throughout the winter.

Our Whole School Christmas Jumper Day will take place on Thursday 11 December. All proceeds will support EWNS. A £2 donation can be made via this link or by card on the day. Although the school will not be running a cooking rota this year, parents and students who wish to volunteer can sign up independently via the EWNS website.

The Log Cabin

Thanks to fundraising from our parent/staff Ealing Half Marathon team and our sportswear dress-up day, we have raised nearly £4,000 for The Log Cabin in Northfields. The Log Cabin has been one of the long-term charities we have supported as a school. To celebrate their 45th anniversary and to raise further funds to support their after school and holiday provision for children with SEND, they are holding a celebration dinner on Friday 21 November (if you would like to attend, please see Mrs Johnson’s School Comms earlier this week).

Mind – Mental Elf Festive Fun Run

The local branch of Mind is hosting its Mental Elf Fun Run in Gunnersbury Park on Sunday 30 November. Families are welcome to take part. Registration details are available online here.

Amnesty International – Halloween/Autumn Dress Up

Our popular dress-up day raised an impressive £1,020 for Amnesty International. Thank you to everyone who took part.

Year Group Charities

Year 11 raised over £350 this term  for the Teenage Cancer Trust through bake sales, a karaoke and bubble tea sale, a Halloween movie event and a sweets delivery.

Year 10 have chosen their year group charity CAPE, which is local mental health support charity in Ealing. They have planned their events and started with a fantastic bakesale last Friday. They will continue with Candy Cane delivery service for Christmas, a Movie Day and a Christmas fair.

Volunteering

Our Year 10 volunteering programme is now underway, with students supporting a range of local initiatives including park maintenance, eco projects and performing in care homes as part of our Caring Choir.

This week, students visited the Salvation Army Baby Bank to sort clothing and prepare care kits for families. Over the coming weeks, as well as visiting Heron House sheltered accommodation, they have been invited to Mencap to celebrate their 40th birthday and to sing at the Age UK day centre.

Thank you for your continued support!
