"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Charities Update – January 25th 2023

This term the Y9s will be supporting children refugees in Palestine through Unicef. They have been busy planning fundraising events up until February half term. These include two bake sales at breaktime, a Beanie Babies sale on 30th January, a Fun Fair on 2nd February and Brownie Delivery on 9th February. Watch this space for more details!

Thank you for your donations to our recent warm clothing collection for local charity Serving Our Superheroes  – the local representative at the charity was thrilled with the collection and asked us to pass on her thanks to all the students,  staff and families who contributed.

Last week was the first 7Rs Week at school and students raised money from the events all week for WWF to make a donation to the climate recovery fund and also adopt an animal on behalf of the school.

This morning saw the return of the fantastic Sixth Form/Staff Pantomime of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ which as well as providing much entertainment for the whole school, was also a fundraiser for the Sixth Form designated charity for MeningitisNow.  Students were encouraged to donate money at the performance in cash buckets or donate through the Just Giving page, where you can donate to this worthy cause here. At the time of writing, nearly £500 had been raised!

Enrichment and volunteering is continuing apace and this week a group will be going into Care Home Chestnut Lodge to do crafts and games with the residents, while next week one of the groups will be preparing their Fairtrade presentations to be shared with our partner school in the USA, Notre Dame school, Pennsylvania after half term.

Thank you for your continued generosity and support.
