Charities & Volunteering Festive Activities
We are gearing up for an exciting and busy last few weeks of term! Take a look at what we have got lined up below.
Care 4 Calais
Following our successful collection of Christmas gift bags last December for the children at the hotel in Hayes, students would like to run this activity again and party bags were distributed to all forms this week for students to work together in groups to fill small gift bags with sweets and gifts. Each form was allocated different age groups and a list of ideas to choose from. The bags will be taken up to the hotel next week by our team of Year 10-13 volunteers. The team will also lead festive games and crafts before giving out the party bags to much excitement. Thank you also for your kind donations to our hat, scarf and gloves collection earlier this month. The C4C team took up several bags to share with the children and adults who lived there. They all enjoyed wearing their new winter items.
Ealing Winter Night Shelter
Our student-designed Christmas cards are now on sale and can be ordered through Parent pay. This year all money will go towards the work of the Ealing Winter Night Shelter (EWNS), a charity who provide homeless individuals with food and a night’s sleep during the winter months in local churches. The Christmas cards will cost £5 for 6 and there are two designs to choose from.
We will also be running our Christmas jumper day on Thursday 12th December for the same charity. Students are invited to wear a Christmas jumper over their school uniform for a £2 donation. Payments can be made via the Just Giving link here.
Age UK
Year 7 and 8 have been busy putting the finishing touches to their Christmas cards for Age UK! The Christmas cards will be added to the Christmas hampers which will be delivered to older people living in the Ealing area who use the services of Age UK. Next week our Y10 enrichment group and some of the Y12s will be visiting Age UK in Greenford to help prepare the hampers.
Caring Choir
This term the caring choir has enjoyed visits to St David’s, Chestnut Lodge, Downhurst and Heron House. They have started to enjoy practising Christmas songs to share with the residents in the last two weeks of term.
Thank you for your continued support and generosity!
