Dates for Your Music Diaries

Our Music Department is delighted to share an exciting series of music events coming up this spring term, including concerts, recitals, competitions, workshops, theatre and concert trips.

Ceremony of Carols

Tuesday 3rd February – Recital Hall, NHEHS. Thursday 5th February – 4 pm – St Mary Magdalen Church, Oxford

The Chamber Choir will be performing Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols with professional harpist Eleanor Medcalf both at Notting Hill and Ealing on Tuesday 3rd February and in Oxford on Thursday 5th February. In Oxford, the girls will have a masterclass and there will also be the opportunity for them to hear an Evensong service at Merton College. Ticket information for both events will be sent out nearer the time.

Musician of the Year Competition

Monday 9th February, 7 pm – Recital Hall

Our annual competition invites participants in two categories: Junior – Years 7-9 and Senior – Years 10-13. The finals concert will be held on Monday 3rd February with external adjudicator, composer and conductor, Nathan James Dearden. There will be heats prior to the competition.

Tea Time Concert

Monday 23rd February, 4.15pm – Recital Hall

Tea Time concerts are very informal and give girls an opportunity to perform in a more relaxed setting and open to parents of our musicians. 

Spring Concert

Monday 23rd March, 7 pm – St Barnabas’ Church, Pitshanger

Our annual orchestral and choral concert. Year 13 students will be performing movements of concertos with the Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. The Harmony Choir and Senior Choir will be performing movements from ‘Adiemus’ by Carl Jenkins and the Wind Band, Bassoon Ensemble, Session Orchestra and Marimba Ensemble will also be performing.

Rock and Pop Concert 

Tuesday 28th April The school bands, Percussion Ensemble, Vox Show Choir and other selected groups will come together for an enjoyable night of Rock and Pop music. More details to come.
