Double Bronze for Football and Netball at GDST Rally!

Last week our U13 football and U18 netball teams made their way to Bromley High GDST for the GDST Sport Rally.

Both teams played very strongly to finish third!

Under 13 Football Rally

By Martina B, Year 8

The GDST rally was a huge success for the U13 football team placing third out of 20 girls’ schools. The team played all the mini matches with resilience and determination with goals from Flora B, Poppy DR, Lara W and Georgia M. We played 10 games and were unbeaten, finishing second in our pool with 35 points, the same as South Hampstead, but were placed second due to goal difference. The day ended with penalties in the final, and player of the tournament, Zara A, scored the last goal which won us third place in the 3rd/4th playoff match against Streatham & Clapham . We all had so much fun playing football all day and enjoyed staying out in the sun!

U18 GDST Netball Rally

By Miss Dunkley, Netball Coach

The U18 netball team had a good journey to Bromley, discussing their tactics on the coach (and some catching up on sleep!). The group stage matches went very well, winning two games and drawing one, which qualified the team for the cup playoffs. A highlight was beating Brighton, one of the best teams in the country, not once but TWICE! The team made it to the semi-final against Putney, narrowly losing 9-7, and then faced Brighton in the 3rd/4th playoff (which they won!). A fantastic result from the team! Congratulations to all the Year 13s who played their final match for the school, and thank you for your amazing contribution to netball during their time here at Notting Hill.
