The Festive Season at NHEHS 2025: Tradition, Giving and Celebration
Christmas at NHEHS was full of music, tradition and community spirit this year.
The festive season kicked off with the Parents’ Guild Christmas Bazaar as the school was transformed into a winter wonderland.
Giving back was central to the season. Students sang at Chestnut Lodge and Age UK Greenford, and collected chocolates for Care 4 Calais. Students brought in items for Christmas hampers for Age UK Ealing, who also received lovely cards made by Year 7s, 8s and Junior School girls. Read more in our Autumn Charities Newsletter.
Year groups added their own festive flair. Year 7 took part in biscuit decorating and performance of A Christmas Carol, while Year 9 enjoyed a form sing-off, Year 10 made paper angels and Year 11 celebrated the end of their GCSE mocks with a screening of Nativity!
On Monday, music took centre stage at our traditional Senior School Carol Service, with four choirs and seasonal readings.
Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday saw students and staff fill the school with colour and sparkles, raising funds for Ealing Winter Night Shelter. On the same day, we devoured the all-important Christmas Lunch!
On Friday, we enjoyed our Christmas Assembly, with a special performance by our 15-strong staff choir, our favourite carols and of course, ending with the legendary, high-energy rendition of The 12 Days of Christmas featuring special parts for each year group – all encouraged by our fabulous two elves (Miss Cagnino and Miss Finch)!
Finally, our much-loved Boar’s Head Assembly at St Barnabas’ Church brought its unique mix of medieval tradition and Notting Hill style – the favourite event of the year for every NHEHS alumna!
Wishing all our community a wonderful Christmas!
