"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

First Ever Giving Day A Huge Success!

By Mrs Tollit, Development Manager

For 36 hours this week our whole community, students, parents, alumnae and staff, past and present, came together to support our 150th Anniversary Bursary Appeal in our Giving Day for Bursaries, a first for the school and for the GDST.

From welly throwing to a non-stop poemathon to tag rugby to rowing around the Lake District, the whole school threw themselves into our Giving Day year group challenges!

Meanwhile over in Junior School, girls accomplished their own challenges related to 150 including treading water for 150 seconds, 150 times table questions and Reception completing 150 steps on stilts! There was a delicious 150th birthday cake for our whole community too! The fun didn’t stop there with Hillfest taking centre stage in the afternoon where we enjoyed brilliant art/photography, music, dance and drama performances plus fun activities, refreshments and more!

We were overwhelmed by the response from across our community with 269 donors giving an amazing £48,465. Many shared lovely words on our Donor Wall including ‘With love to all the NHEHS girls. I truly hope you will find your identity and your voice having benefitted from the education, inspiration, experience, support and friendships NHEHS has to offer.’

Thank you so much. If you missed the chance and want to give, the platform is still open to donate here.
