Flying High – Alumna Eva Keen Inspires Junior Pupils with Her Journey from Classroom to Cockpit
We were delighted to welcome alumna Eva Keen (NHEHS 2018), back to school last Friday to inspire our Junior School pupils with stories from the skies! Now a pilot with EasyJet, and recently promoted to Senior First Officer, Eva shared her journey from the NHEHS classroom to the cockpit, proving that no dream is ever too high!
She brought her pilot training and career to life with a captivating presentation, including video clips of her navigating stormy skies as well as footage from flight school which involved a manoeuvre where she had to tip the plane upside down three or four times in a row!
Eva explained that only 5% of pilots in the UK are women and she is passionate about encouraging more women into aviation careers. After listening to her fascinating talk, we have no doubt that Eva most definitely inspired a few more!
It wasn’t just the girls who were excited to meet Eva, several Junior School teachers were delighted to catch up with her and to see their former pupil thriving in her career.
Thank you so much Eva. We look forward to bumping into you in an airport or on a plane soon!
