Defying Gravity: Year 10 Music Students Experience Wicked Live!

Group of students outside a theater. - from Notting Hill & Ealing High SchoolOur Year 10 GCSE Music students travelled into central London to watch the musical, Wicked last week. Read how they enjoyed the show:

Leila

“As part of our GCSE music we are studying Defying Gravity and it was a great opportunity to be able to go to the Apollo Victoria Theatre and watch Wicked. We were able to see our set work in its whole context which greatly helped with our understanding of the instrumentation and the setting of the piece. The experience was truly fantastic and it was incredible to hear the well-known hits in real life with the spectacular atmosphere and all the stage lights and detailed staging props.”

Manya

“Having seen the musical for the first time live was truly a surreal experience, and the music was probably the best part! It was incredibly exciting to see the musical in action and to sing along to our favourite songs from the show, such as “Popular”, “The Wizard and I”, and of course my personal favourite (and ironically enough our set work) “Defying Gravity”. Overall, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the show and the experience was one which we will all remember.”
