On May 16th, a team of Year 5 and 6 NHEHS girls travelled to Northampton High School to compete in the U11 GDST Pairs Cricket Tournament.

Our girls’ cricket team excelled, winning all three matches in their group. The toughest match was against Croydon High School, which NHEHS won 216-205.

This victory advanced NHEHS to the quarterfinals, where they comfortably defeated Sydenham. In the semifinals, the girls faced Norwich and, with improving form and consistent bowling, the team secured another win!

Buzzing with excitement to be in the final, NHEHS approached the match against Norwich with a quiet confidence. Winning the toss, they elected to field- and it paid off! Taking five wickets and a superb bowling display, they restricted Norwich to just 205 runs, a low score in pairs cricket. The momentum carried into the batting innings, with a commanding performance, hammering two sixes in the final overs. The team’s triumph marked a turning point after two consecutive years as runners-up. A powerful testament to their growth, teamwork and talent.

Congratulations to the NHEHS Cricket Team on their remarkable performance!
