"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Introducing Our New Academic Scholars Projects

This year, we are pleased to launch two brand new projects designed to stretch our Academic Scholars and provide them with real-world research and communication skills.

Year 9: Project Panorama

For our seven Year 9 Academic Scholars, Project Panorama will select a topic and question of their choice and develop a research proposal for the question. Instead of writing a traditional essay, our scholars will produce 3-5 minute videos on topics they are passionate about. From initial research to final cut, the girls are responsible for the entire creative process:

Researching complex topics of their choice.

Presenting their findings confidently to a camera.

Editing the footage into a professional, cohesive short film.

The project is supported by an ex-BBC Director of Leadership and New Talent.

Year 11: The Research Project

Our nine Year 11 Academic Scholars will select a topic and question of their choice and develop a research proposal for the question. This involves creating and drawing on existing methodologies and assembling an appropriate bibliography. Each pupil will receive 1-1 support from a relevant subject specialist within the NHEHS teaching staff.

Whether they are presenting to camera or diving into research papers, these projects give our scholars a great opportunity to explore their own interests. We look forward to sharing the final videos and research findings with the wider school community later this year.
