Junior Pop Choir Sing at the Memory Lane Cafe
By Dr Sole, Director of Junior Music
Today our Junior Pop Choir walked down to St Barnabas’ Church to sing for some of the older people who go to Church on Thursdays there. The group gather together over a cup of tea to talk and socialise as part of their ‘Memory Lane café.’ Our choir sang classics from Traditional Scottish songs to modern songs such as Hallelujah. Some of the attendants and volunteers were old NHEHS students and dedicated a few words to the girls about how proud they were that the NHEHS legacy continued with them!
Studies have shown that listening to music from years ago can help retrieve stored memories to spark a recollection and it was shown by their glistening eyes and moments where they all sang along with us to their favourite songs.
We are enormously proud of the dedication of our girls and their charitable spirit to share music beyond the classroom.
