"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Keeping Busy During Half Term

During the lockdown, the  junior school has kept its doors open for the daughters of key workers, both during term time and during the half-term break.

In half term, some girls have been coming in every day and Daisy in Year 6 took it upon herself to organise a week of activities. Tuesday started off with a game of ‘archery’ which was in the form of magnetic darts, followed by a crash course in First Aid – how to cover an open wound, putting someone in the recovery position and making a sling. Then it was off to building a tent using materials around the school. The girls stopped for a lunch break and then it was time for the scavenger hunt and buggy races.

Wednesday morning began with a rematch of magnetic darts, colouring in, and then a whole lot of painting with Mr Quarmby’s wife. A scavenger hunt created by Year 4’s Mihika was a success with the girls enjoying finding items around the school. More buggy races and some playing in the sunshine had all the girls going home tired and happy.

The last day of coming into school started off with creating a beach and under-the-sea creations with plasticine, puzzle building and a treasure hunt. At lunch the girls enjoyed buggy races and hoola hoop competitions. After lunch was an afternoon of arts and crafts, with some creating finger puppets and others doing some paintings, as well as several rounds of musical chairs.

A fun and exciting half-term break was had by all the girls.
