Launch of World Ready Programme 2025 for Year 13
By Ms Postlethwaite, Deputy Head of Sixth Form
Last week saw the launch of our World Ready programme for our Year 13 students. The programme, which will run every Thursday until March, features practical workshops, and is designed to help students learn and practise skills essential to their life after Sixth Form.
The first event was Money + Foundation presented by Jo Baldwin of Fiscorum, which is designed to provide all students with a strong foundation to understand the financial decisions they may face once they begin the next phase of their lives.
Following this presentation, students attend their choice of workshops on topics such as financial management, British Sign Language, CPR, self-defence, bicycle repair, car repair and maintenance, studying and working abroad, and healthy cooking on a budget. The workshops are interactive and hands-on, providing opportunities for students to practise what they are learning from people who are experts in their fields.
The final event is a personal branding workshop during which students will assess their own online presence to ensure it aligns with their post-Sixth Form goals and intentions.
