Meet our new Year 12 Charity Reps for 2026!
We are delighted to announce our new Charity Reps from Year 12, Nico and Meher, who told us why they are looking forward to their new roles.
“Hi! I’m Nico and I take Maths, Economics and French A-level.
I am very excited to take over one of the charity rep roles as I have always loved supporting charities through different events and volunteering. I have been a part Amnesty for many years and love being part of such an important group advocating for human rights. As well as this, I have taken part in litter picking around Chiswick for my bronze and silver DofE which has taught me the value in working with a community and environmental responsibility for my surroundings.
I am also currently taking part in the GDST LEAD project, and my group (Educycle) is working towards reaching equality in education through ensuring those less fortunate have access to all supplies they may need (stationary and uniform). All our business profits will be going to the Ealing Youth Foundation. As a new representative, I am looking forward to becoming even more involved in all charity work within the school and encouraging everyone to take part!”
“Hi, I’m Meher and I take Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Politics for A Level!
I was very excited about the opportunity of being a charity rep for the school as I’ve always loved the charity events, especially Care 4 Calais, and I love to volunteer too. Every Tuesday, I volunteer with the junior school to help Year 4 students with their reading, and each week it feels so rewarding watching them and their confidence improve.
I found a passion for volunteering, especially with children, after my Bronze DofE volunteering section where I tutored a 6-year-old boy in Maths and English and learnt such important skills like patience and how to adapt my teaching methods for each child I volunteer with. I am also part of Amnesty International and love to take part in the events we hold; Amnesty is such an important charity to work with, and I am so grateful our school offers it as a society. I am so excited to be one of the new charity reps and am looking forward to the very charitable year ahead!”
A big thank you to everyone who donated to our charities last term – we received lovely appreciative messages from Age UK, Care 4 Calais and Ealing Winter Night Shelter for all the monetary and gift donations.
This half term sees the continuation of our Year 10 enrichment programme, with volunteering at the local parks helping the Ealing parks rangers, visits to local care homes, but also reading with pupils at North Ealing Primary School.
The Year group fundraising focus turns to Year 9 who have chosen Women’s Aid as their charity. They are running two bake sales, a sweets delivery service and one further event (tbc).
One of our GDST LEAD social enterprise projects, Educycle, held a bake sale to generate funds to set up their website domain, but managed to raise double what they had hoped for, so donated the remaining money (nearly £50) to the Ealing Youth Foundation.
Thank you for your continued support and generosity!
