Our scholars in Year 9 upwards were excited to continue their conducting journey working with professional choral conductor Hilary Campbell. They had picked one of three pieces to work on, and all performed for each other. Hilary challenged them to think beyond the simple beat patterns, considering context, emotion and phrasing when practising their conducting. Our two newest Year 9 students were both excited and nervous to officially take the podium for the first time, but came away having learnt a lot. They will all now go and analyse their videos to create targets for their next session with Hilary in the Spring Term.
