Musicals, Classical, Jazz & Rock Performances Hit The High Notes at NHEHS Ensembles Concert

The Ensembles concert, held on 13th March gave the stage to all the ensemble groupings rehearsing regularly in school time.
The 12 strong flute group opened the evening with an arrangement of ‘All that jazz’ from Chicago, Shreya and Kikuko, winners of the 1st and 2nd places in the NHEHS Musician of the Year junior competition impressed with pieces of Beethoven and Grieg.
The three school choirs sang enthusiastically, Chamber Choir continuing their discovery of music by female composers performing ‘Do not stand at my grave and weep’ by Eleanor Daley.
The Jazz Band performed ‘In the Mood’ and the Rock Band lifted the roof with their version of ‘Get Lucky’ by Daft Punk.
