"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Never Too Old for World Book Day at NHEHS!

World Book Day at NHEHS is always a colourful affair and last Thursday was no exception, with pupils from Reception all the way through to the Sixth Form dressed up inspired by their favourite books and authors. Hermione Granger of Harry Potter was very popular in Junior School while Year 13 took us back to Neverland, all dressed as characters from Peter Pan!

Congratulations to the winners of our Senior School costume competition (pictured right).

Continuing the literary focus, as well as fun form time English quizzes for all Senior School, our Year 7s also enjoyed a trip to the Globe Theatre in London.

Year 10 took part in a GCSE Poetry Conference at Ealing Town Hall together with Ealing Fields School, which featured poets Daljit Nagra and Hannah Lowe. We were also lucky enough to be visited by award-winning author and journalist Patrice Lawrence who gave a talk to Year 8 and then she ran two creative writing workshops with Year 10. At lunchtime, she signed book and spoke to students in the library.

For the past fortnight our Senior School atrium has been filled with incredible artwork from our Year 7-9 students who were challenged to come up with their interpretations of the theme of “Alternate Worlds, Alternate Voices.” From board games to intricately-designed hardback books, they had it covered! Well done to all taking part and especially our overall winner of the Book Week gallery is Chloe CP in 7E.
