"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

NHEHS Parent-Staff Team to Run the Ealing Half for The Log Cabin

We are excited to announce we will be entering a staff, parent and governor team in the Ealing Half Marathon (EHM) which takes place this year on Sunday 25th September.

There are already several members of staff who are interested in joining the team, including Mr Shoults and members of the PE department.

The Ealing Half Marathon is one of the community’s biggest events and is west London’s only fully road closed half marathon. Since it began in 2011 it has raised well over £1,000,000 for various charities. The NHEHS team will be raising money for The Log Cabin, a charity based in Northfields providing after school care and activities for children with additional needs. Each year at NHEHS our Year 10 students organise an annual party for the children from The Log Cabin so it is a cause close to our heart. The previous two years have been particularly challenging for the Log Cabin and they have been unable to carry out many of their normal fundraising activities. We hope that sponsorship raised through our participation in EHM will provide much needed funds.

In 2021 we ran for The Log Cabin and raised over £6,000 – let’s see if we can beat that this year!

All runners will be provided with an NHEHS team technical t-shirt and the fantastic support of the many NHEHS families cheering along the route is guaranteed to make those tough hills that bit easier!

We intend to have a pre-race gathering for the team in September as well as an after-race party. Any parents or alumnae of the school are most welcome to join us! If you would like to be part of the NHEHS team the first step is to complete the following Google Form link by Thursday 30th June.  All runners will also need to sign up for the Ealing Half Marathon race itself here.  Race entry itself costs £51 (plus admin fees) if you are not a member of a UKA running club or £49 (plus admin fees) if you are a member of a running club.

Please note that places are not guaranteed until you have entered, and that the race may sell out early. If you have already entered as an individual or club member, you can still run for our team!

We would also like to encourage any NHEHS Juniors who are running in the Ealing Mini Mile on Saturday 24th September to help support The Log Cabin too.

We hope to see you run or cheer us on our way on 25th September! If you would like to donate to our fantastic cause, please see the link here. Thank you!
