NHEHS Runners Help Ealing Borough to 2nd Place in Middlesex Schools Cross Country County Championships
Seven NHEHS’ athletes were selected to run for the Borough of Ealing at the recent Middlesex Schools Cross Country County Championships held in Harrow at the end of January.
Wearing the yellow and green for Ealing, the team took on the best of Middlesex and the inevitable mud and hills on the course, which varied from 2,500m for Year 7 (Minor Girls) and Year 8 and 9 (Junior Girls), with Year 10 and 11 (Intermediate Girls) taking on the 4,200m challenge.
All our of runners ran strongly in a very competitive event with over 70 runners in the Minors, Juniors and over 50 in the Intermediates, with top 10 finishes for Nicola H (5th, Intermediate Girls) and Sofia B (9th, Minor girls). This meant Ealing finished second overall just behind Richmond out of the nine boroughs competing- a fantastic result!
Thanks to Nicola’s top 5 finish she has been selected to run for Middlesex in the English Schools Nationals in March in Nottingham. Congratulations to Nicola on being selected and good luck at Nationals!
