"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

NHEHS Student Magazine Hits The Press

Our School Magazine team are delighted to announce the publication of our NHEHS Student Magazine. Working alongside Mr Futter and Miss Longmore, our team of editors and writers were excited to see their hard work pay off with the publication going off to press. Congratulations to the whole team on a fantastic magazine:  Design Editors – Nikita P, Melisa C; Lead Editors – Rhea J, Charlotte P; Sports Editor – Ayna S; Writers – Hana B, Olympia B, Katie L, Saira B, Selena A, Alisha O, Divyasree K, Hanna F and Niamh M.

Miss Longmore said, ‘Working on this magazine has yet again been very rewarding and it’s always exciting seeing it come together over the year. It’s encouraging seeing the girls work together, learning new skills and supporting each other to fulfil their creative vision for the publication.’

Nikita P, one of the Design Editors also spoke to us about the magazine.

What was the hardest thing about producing the magazine?

Trying to come up with new ideas to try and top previous years! This was really hard as the standard has always been top quality.

What are you most proud of?

The ‘Match the Teachers to the Pets’ page! It was so fun to see everyone’s pets with some of the inputs being very surprising.

Did you introduce any new features to look out for?

Definitely! The teachers’ Spotify page was very tricky to put together but one of my favourite additions. It was very interesting finding out the different teachers’ music tastes and quite surprising to say the least.

What did you enjoy about doing it?

Working with different people who I didn’t always interact with. It was great to get closer with girls I might not have in lessons and I think learning the ropes at the start of the process together was a great opportunity for us to strengthen these friendships.

What did you learn?

A lot about photography, I hadn’t realised the amount of work or behind-the-scene details that went into different shoots. Getting the front cover sorted was a huge project in itself but was definitely worth it.

We hope you enjoy reading the magazine below!
