Parent-Staff Team Conquers Its Fourth Ealing Half Marathon for The Log Cabin
A big thank you to all our parents and staff who ran in the NHEHS team for The Log Cabin at the Ealing Half Marathon last weekend! We hope you really enjoyed your run and the fantastic atmosphere on the course.
A big thank you also to all our supporters around the route – you really helped us get round!
Here’s what some of our runners had to say, plus photos of their amazing cheer squads!
Reeba Doogal Arora (pictured right with her daughter):
“The highlight of the run for me was running past all the places in Ealing that mean something to me or trigger a memory – including the NHEHS building! Also all the faces cheering me on, especially the little faces (mostly Tara’s school friends!). I’m so thrilled to have done it – it was a huge personal achievement having never even done a 5k walk before! I would absolutely do it again, although I’ll take a break next year I think :)”
Lisa Priestley (pictured left with her daughter (Emilia, year 4) and son):
“I had a great time and definitely hope to do it again next year!”
Mrs Heppenstall (pictured right with her husband who also ran for the team):
“My highlight was seeing people I knew around the course – some I knew I’d probably see, others were a surprise which was really nice. I am very pleased and proud of having done it. At times before and during I didn’t think I had it in me, but I did it. Would I do it again? Maybe one day……”
Simon Williams (pictured with his family including Eleanor with her “Go NHEHS” flag): “I loved it and have already signed up for next year. My highlights were the many “Notting Hill” cheers around the course and crossing the finish line!”
Dr Zelin Li: “Many thanks for organising this team. It was an unforgettable running experience in West London through our NHEHS supporters alongside the running route. I enjoyed it very much.”
We were also thrilled to receive lovely posters created by children from the Log Cabin to thank our team of intrepid runners!
At the time of writing we have made over £2,000 including all the donations from the Sportswear Dress Up Day on Friday at Junior and Senior schools.
We will be keeping our Just Giving donations page open until half term so that any friends and family who would like to support your fantastic efforts can still contribute to the cause here.
