Professional Conductor Charlotte Corderoy leads Conducting Workshop for Music Scholars
By Miss Goodsell, Director of Music
On Monday 16th, professional conductor Charlotte Corderoy led a workshop for Year 10–13 music scholars. A dynamic conductor and music educator, she is known for her engaging approach to ensemble leadership and her commitment to inspiring young musicians. Her conducting credits include the Philharmonia, LSO, and ENO, among many others.
Students were excited to take part in their first orchestral conducting workshop, beginning with an introduction to baton technique before progressing to conducting one another in performances of the Hebrides Overture and the Barber of Seville Overture.
‘Charlotte was lovely and was really inspiring and approachable. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing how you could control the ensemble by using different parts of your arm. I really enjoyed using a baton for the first time, I felt much more confident with it.’ Georgia and Emma
