Record Number of Extra-Curricular Clubs for 2019/20
A record number of extra-curricular clubs provided a wealth of opportunities for girls at the Annual Extra-Curricular Clubs Fair in September. Sixth Form Subject Reps were on a serious recruiting mission for the huge choice of activities on show for before-school, lunchtime and after-school clubs.
Girls were encouraged to sign up for their passions and try something new by the Reps who initiated, set up and run the activities.
Brand new clubs making their debut this year included Aeronautics; Lotions, Potions and Kitchen Chemistry; Flamenco; Chinese Cartoons and Games; Languages and Careers; Journalism; Maths Cypher; Philmosophy, Myth Writing, Crafty Sew and Sew, Coup Club and International Cuisine.
These were joined by old NHEHS favourites including Horrible Histories, Vex Robotics, Duke of Edinburgh, Exploring Psychology, Life Drawing, Medsoc, Senior Literary Forum, Foreign Book Club, Eco Group, Creative Writing, Hans Woyda, Dead Poets Society, Sapere Audere, Science Crest and Dissections, Lego Robotics, Debating, Amnesty International, German, Investor Challenge, Geography Society, Art, Knit and Natter, Ealing Teen Read, Design Technology and Bridge.
With over 35 sports clubs, individual and team pursuits’ bases were covered – from netball (A-F teams for Year 7), hockey (A-C Year 7), football to kickboxing, yoga, fencing, badminton, running, gymnastics, water polo, swimming, trampolining and dance.
Our music activities included a wide range of styles and groups, from choirs (Senior, Harmony and Chamber, plus Lower School Chamber), to bands (Wind, Rock, Piano, Violin, Jazz, Flute Ensemble) to orchestras (Chamber and Session) to Music Tech Club to Composition Clubs.
Drama offered opportunities for girls from all ages to get involved both on stage and backstage through our Backstage Pass Levels 1-3, Drama Club and LAMDA.
Looking forward to seeing how the clubs progress this year! Details on the club timetable can be found on Firefly.
