Scholars Inspired by Cultural Fusion at LPO Concert

Our students had the opportunity to attend an interesting concert featuring the legendary sarod player Amjad Ali Khan and his sons. They joined forces with conductor Lidiya Yankovskaya and the London Philharmonic Orchestra for a performance that blended music from diverse traditions.
The programme began with Reena Esmail’s evocative piece RE|Member, followed by Amjad Ali Khan’s Sarod Concerto (Samaagam). After the interval, the orchestra delighted the audience with a selection of cinematic works by Allah Rakha Rahman, including excerpts from the Slumdog Millionaire Suite.
