Six Hours of Open Air Puzzle Solving at Sixth Form Bonding Day!
By Dr Klimt, Deputy Head of Sixth Form
On Friday 6 September, Years 12 and 13 gathered in the paddock at Trailfinders Sports Club for their Bonding Day: six hours of open-air puzzle solving, picnicking, and good old-fashioned competition.
Brilliantly organised by WiseUp Team Building, the day’s activities included a bewildering array of challenges including: ‘The Chasm’, where students had to walk a treacherous plank, ‘Matryoshka’, a blindfolded Russian doll assembly line, and ‘Sheep and Shepherd’, an exercise in herding that inspired outstanding creativity (including a conga line!) from a number of the groups. The day ended with some truly remarkable feats of baton-passing that had staff and students in stitches.
Our sixth form greatly impressed WiseUp with the speed and accuracy of their puzzle-solving. Their teachers, meanwhile, were delighted to observe in action so many of the qualities that make our NHEHS Sixth Form so special: team work, inclusivity, good spirits (despite a light drizzle!) and determination. Roll on the academic year 2024-25!
