Sixth Formers Gain Valuable University Insights from Alumnae at Alternative Prospectus Evening

By Nirupama K and the Head Girl Team

On Wednesday 13th September, sixth formers attended the alternative prospectus evening in which we met with alumnae who are currently at university.

The event was extremely useful as we could talk to girls about their experiences at university, student life, their courses, gap years etc. These are things that can be hard to ask at open days or find out about on websites so to hear firsthand experiences from current students really opened our eyes about the reality of university life. It was so nice to see such familiar faces, especially considering these were girls I really looked up to whilst they were still here. Listening to them talk about what they really enjoyed about their university life and gathering advice from all of them was so useful now that so many of us are beginning our journey to the next step in our education. I talked to some girls about living in London or commuting to university and it was really interesting hearing their advice especially since accommodation costs in London can be so high. It was also incredibly reassuring to hear their words considering they were in our exact position not too long ago.

I would highly recommend that all sixth formers attend next year as you can get such valuable insights into the lives of university students from people who really understand your position.
