Sport: In Focus – Year 9 Amelia on Waterpolo

Our latest weekly “Sport: In Focus” features Year 9 Amelia D and her favourite sport waterpolo.

“Hi, my name is Amelia and I play waterpolo for the Ealing Sharks team at Ealing Waterpolo Club. Outside of school, I train on Saturday evenings and to help improve my speed, I go to swim training on Sunday evenings. I play centre-forward and am the captain of the Ealing team. We play in a league and have tournaments that I attend on Sundays. I started playing waterpolo when I was 10 and I really enjoy playing the sport. Though it can be physically tough at times, it is also very fun and rewarding. My teammates and I have known each other for at least two years and understand that teamwork is such an essential part of the sport and getting results as a team, and I also love learning new skills and pushing myself to the maximum to improve.”
