The conducting workshop for this term had a slightly different slant, with students bringing pieces that they were working on in ensembles.

Each conductor was tasked with choosing a piece of repertoire, picking one of the ensembles currently rehearsing and then leading the group, conducting them in one of the end of year concerts. Hilary worked with each student both on their conducting style and manner of delivery, but also in the way they should rehearse. She wanted students to understand the importance of really knowing the music in detail and suggested techniques such as playing or singing through every part in the music.

Each student worked really hard and we look forward to seeing many of them on stage at the Summer Concert or Hillfest.
