Sunshine in Salamanca for Year 10-12 Spanish Language Trip
During the Easter holidays, our Year 10, 11 and 12 Spanish students travelled to Salamanca for a week of language immersion and cultural activities.
Language Learning
Students attended daily lessons at Colegio Delibes, focusing on improving their spoken confidence and grammar. These sessions allowed the group to practice their skills in a native environment alongside experienced instructors.
Cultural Highlights
The itinerary was designed to give students a broad view of Spanish history and art:
- A walking tour of the city included the Cathedral and the ‘Salamanca Monumental’ historic sites.
- A visit to Casa Lis (the Museum of Art Déco and Art Nouveau) to enjoy the city’s more modern artistic heritage.
Practical Activities
The group participated in fun activities beyond the classroom:
- A cookery class where students learned to make authentic tortilla, followed by traditional hot chocolate and churros at the school.
- A Salsa class proved to be the most popular activity of the week, with the group enjoying it so much that they organised a second session.
Many thanks to our staff for an amazing trip which provided an excellent opportunity for students to use their Spanish in real-world situations while experiencing the culture first hand.
