Sunshine, Smiles and Scones at the Annual OGA Tea Party
It was wonderful to welcome back alumnae and former staff to NHEHS for the annual OGA Tea Party earlier this month. The sun shone, the Prosecco flowed and the scones were plentiful!
As always, alumnae and former staff travelled far and wide (many with suitcases and backpacks!) to get together with their school friends. It was so lovely to see alumnae of all ages but particularly special to welcome a large Class of 2019 cohort who were celebrating five years since leaving NHEHS and for whom this was their first OGA Tea Party (of many, we hope!). By contrast, the Class of 1984 were delighted to be celebrating 40 years since leaving NHEHS and thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon of reminiscing and catching up with each other.
In her new guise as archivist, former Maths teacher Helen Critcher, and Dr Sam Letters, NHEHS librarian and alumna (Class of 1987), curated a brilliant display of NHEHS memorabilia including uniform, school magazines dating back through the years, programmes from school plays as well as whole school photos. They even managed to unearth, from the deepest depths of the school’s basement, the original, wooden, Head Girls and Trust Scholars boards which haven’t been seen for years!
It was sad to say goodbye to Zosia Thackray (Class of 1994) and Chair of the OGA for the last few years but we were very happy to introduce and welcome Connie Goring-Morris (Class of 2012) as Zosia’s successor.
