"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Ten Records Broken at Scorching Sports Day!

The sun was out in force yesterday at our annual NHEHS Sports Day at Perivale Track!

The track was a vibrant display of red, yellow, green, and blue as students from Years 7-10 and Year 12 donned the House colours of Hepburn, Eliot, Nightingale and Sharman. With six track and six field events for each year group, year group relays, and the fiercely contested staff vs. Year 12 relays and tug-of-wars, there were ample opportunities to embrace the house spirit as athletes vied for the House Sports Cup! This year also saw some fun old-style PE games including skipping and three-legged races to mark our 150th anniversary!

Despite soaring temperatures, 10 school year group records were broken!

In Year 7, Alice W-B broke the 800m while over in the field Isla K smashed the long jump and Emma C the discus records for Year 7.

In Year 8, Cosima LD jumped amazingly to raise the Year 8 high jump record to 1.47m while Sofia B broke the 300m record on the track. Sofia also jumped an incredible 4.59m for a whole school record in the long jump.

In Year 9 Lilly B threw wonderfully to beat the Year 9 javelin record.

In Year 10 Minna took the hurdles record before claiming a whole school record in the high jump with an amazing 1.60m.

In Year 12 Eadi S-J scooped the Year 12 record in the 800m.

As ever, there was a very competitive tug of war between Year 12 and the staff, with the Sixth Formers again taking an easy win.

However, it was a different story in the final event of the day with the 4 x 100m relay, with the staff team just defeating the Year 12s with a great team effort!

A big thank you to everyone involved on the day!

The points are being tallied up with the final results of the House Sports Cup to be announced at the final assembly on Tuesday 9th July where we will also be presenting the Jessica-Ennis Hill Individual Cup. Pupils compete in three events (mixed track and field) to qualify for the individual cup and gain points from their positions in their individual events which are added together. Extra points are added for breaking school records.
