Term Ends on a High Note with Spring Concert at St Barnabas
It was almost the end of term but our musicians were still busy.
The Spring Concert, the flagship concert of the year, took place on April 2nd and gave the chance for the most advanced musicians together with the parent and teachers choir to perform at St Barnabas Church.
Year 12 and 13 soloists Miranda Simmons and Emilia Rayner shone, performing the exciting ‘Nigun’ by Bloch and the lyrical ‘Concertino’ by Chaminade, accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra.
The Senior Choir together with the parent and teachers choir sang extracts from Vivaldi’s ‘Gloria’ and ended the concert with ‘The Little Jazz Mass’ by Chilcott.
The Symphony Orchestra performed ‘Hungarian Dances 4 and 5’ by Brahms and Strauss’s uplifting ‘Radetzky March’ with the traditional audience participation.
