U11s Netballers Win Newland House Tournament

By Mrs Vao, Head of Junior PE

The U11 NHEHS Netball Team made the journey to Twickenham on Saturday to compete in the U11 Newland House Netball Tournament. Despite the chilly conditions, the girls were full of enthusiasm and eager to take on the competition.

The tournament was played in the Bee Netball format, with five players per team and a rotation system where players switched positions at the beginning of each match. With nine other schools participating, NHEHS had the opportunity to play each team, culminating in a final showdown. Although NHEHS started with a loss, they quickly regained their form, winning every match except the one against Bute House.

Finishing in second place overall, the NHEHS team advanced to the final, determined to avenge their earlier defeat by Bute House. With exceptional teamwork and impressive skill, NHEHS dominated the final, securing a stunning 5-0 victory. This was the first time NHEHS had ever won the tournament, a triumph that was celebrated by both players and supporters alike.
