Year 10 DT Groups Win Two Awards at the RSA ‘Pupil Design Awards’ Competition
By Mr Futter, Head of Design Technology
On Tuesday 2nd July, seven Design Technology (DT) students from Year 10 reached the finals of the Royal Society of Arts – ‘Pupil Design Awards’ DT competition. The Pupil Design Award competition was pioneered by established figures in the world of design to encourage younger generations to respond to real life design challenges.
Winners had a day at RSA House where they had two workshops and talks from industry professionals. They created seed bombs as part of a Guerilla Gardens project and considered their impact on the future design and their ability to make a change.
Within the KS4 category, we won two out of three possible awards, so a fantastic achievement. The participating students were Karma A-K and Maddy H for their project ‘Nibblets’ and Lucia F-R, Daisy S, Guusje V, Elizabeth W for their project ‘Swoosh’.
Many congratulations to the girls!
