Year 11 Celebrate Best GCSE Results Since Covid
Our Year 11 students were in school today celebrating the best set of GCSE results since Covid. 54% of entries were awarded grade 9, 82% entries were grade 9 or 8, and 93% of entries were awarded grades 9 to 7 – a significant increase on last year.
A significant number of girls attained the highest possible grades across the board. Seven students achieved 10 grade 9s, eight further students achieved nine grade 9s, and 35 girls gained straight 9s and 8s.
Commenting on the results, Allison Saunders, Head, said: “I am absolutely delighted that our students have obtained such excellent results. They have shown real determination, ambition and energy in their studies, and we are so proud of them. These results are a firm foundation on which to build in the Sixth Form. I am enormously grateful to all our staff for the support and inspiration that they give to our students.”
There were outstanding results across the range of subjects offered, with notable success in creative subjects, as well as in English Literature and Language, Spanish, Physics, Latin and Greek; we are also proud of our continued strength in STEM and the Humanities. This speaks to our ongoing commitment to provide students with a wealth of opportunities to develop each student’s love of learning, which in turn leads to the school’s acclaimed academic success.
Last week, we also announced an exceptional set of A Level results with 24% of entries graded A* and 62% of entries graded A* or A. With an A*AB rate of 91%, NHEHS was ranked 24th in the country for A Level results in The Times league table of top UK schools, which included independent, state and grammar schools.
