On Friday 6th March, we were thrilled to join the Futures Conference at Sydenham High School GDST.

The event featured a very strong panel of speakers who embodied the spirit of innovation and resilience, offering our students a glimpse into the rapidly evolving world of work. The overarching message of the day was that the future belongs to those who see possibilities where others see uncertainty and that a career is not a ladder, it’s a journey of continuous evolution.

Speakers:

• Professor Funke Abimbola MBE – AI Governance & Leadership: An award-winning General Counsel and leading voice on responsible AI and ethics.
• Raj Sidhu – Career Strategy & Coaching: University of Cambridge Careers Consultant and former investment banker.
• Jacynth Bassett (Alumna) – Entrepreneurship & Inclusivity: CEO of Ageism Is Never In Style and fashion industry disruptor.
• Camilla Carson – Tech Innovation & Strategy: Non-Executive Director at FYLD AI with 18+ years of experience scaling global startups.

“The Futures Conference at Sydenham High School was an inspirational day where we heard from a collection of 5 speakers who held talks, Q&A sessions and workshops on insightful topics such as AI Governance, Careers Consultancy, and General Advice. The information in these sessions was extremely valuable such as the various advice surrounding the importance of Linked-In for networking and that you can never be too keen. During the Q&A sessions, everyone had amazing questions for the speakers and they had some great answers full of advice for us.”
