Year 12 Futures Day
On 14th January Year 12s found out more about options available for study beyond school, from Art Foundation courses, gap years and international study, to vocational courses such as Law, Medicine and Veterinary Science, and traditional courses at UK universities and Oxbridge.
The day was led by Mrs Collins, our Director of University Admissions, with participation from Mr Rodgers-Endersby on Irish applications, from Ms Vannini as co-ordinator for Medicine/Dentistry/Veterinary applications and Ms Postlethwaite as deputy head of Sixth Form. Ms Hopkins also spoke about particular opportunities in China.
We also welcomed Karen Kimura from the GDST to speak to all girls about Apprenticeships in the afternoon. Students left the day with a much greater knowledge of what the landscape is like for them, and how to find out more about these pathways.
This will be followed up in PSCHEE sessions this term, as well as at the Universities and UCAS Information Evening on Tuesday 25th February.
