"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Year 12 Maddy Announced as Limitless Kit Ambassador for 2023!

By Maddy C, Year 12

Last November I received an email from one of our sports teachers, Mrs Newman regarding a chance to become an ambassador for Limitless. Limitless is the company which provides our school PE kit and therefore I was very familiar with them. After looking into the idea and looking into last year’s programme I decided to sign up. I filled out a form about my interests and sporting life and why I believed I would be a suitable candidate for the programme. In the new year I then received an email from a member of the team explaining how I had been chosen to take part in the program, and what it would involve me doing.

My main sports are hockey, running and dance. I mainly play hockey and I play at county level representing North London alongside playing for PHC Chiswick and my school’s first XI team. Alongside training around four times a week I also coach Under 8’s and Under 12’s on the weekend for hockey. For dance, I normally practise around two to three times a week, both contemporary and jazz styles. I also coach in dance, teaching a similar age group of 6-8 year olds in the styles of both tap and jazz. Every one to two years I participate in a dance production with the company I dance with and I continue to help there with the juniors as well as taking part myself. Running is a hobby and I aim to run at least once a week around training time, either in the city or sometimes in the countryside when I am away with my family.

I really enjoy playing hockey as I feel like it gives me a break from my everyday school life and allows me to socialise with other people my age, and other ages when in club or in county. Playing matches is something that I always look forward to during the week as it allows me to go outside and meet new players with similar interests and also play on pitches around the London area (sometimes outside of London). I also love coaching in both hockey and dance as being able to interact with younger students allows me to express myself in a fun and entertaining way to help them learn the sports which I love. It always makes me feel extremely happy to see students progressing after helping them correct their techniques. Dance is a sport which I have done since an extremely young age and has always been a favourite part of the week. It allows me to express my emotions and have a mental break when working hard in school which allows me to maintain the perfect balance of activities in my life.

Alongside these main sports I have a few other hobbies, sometimes cricket and football which I do less often. I believe that all sports can be used as a social activity for both family and friends and therefore love to participate in them as much as possible both inside and outside school.

After becoming a Limitless Ambassador I will be receiving a clothing bundle including all the basics for sports including a puffer jacket, shorts, a mid layer and more. I will participate in an Ambassador meeting in which I will get briefed on my role as well as meet the other Ambassadors this year. I will need to post regularly about Limitless on my sporting social media pages, as well as promoting the company to other people in my teams. I am also aiming to connect Limitless with the school more closely so that we can get items for events like the sports awards to raise more awareness of the company of limitless throughout our school. Overall, my job as a Limitless Ambassador is to raise awareness of the company by wearing and promoting their brand and training sessions, socials and matches both inside and outside school.
