Year 12 University of Bath Talk
This Tuesday we welcomed Franco Cimmino from the University of Bath presenting to Year 12 on making applications to competitive courses.
Whilst focused on Bath, Franco spoke about the process nationally, including insights into the new UCAS Personal Statements which have been revised for this 2026 cohort. His guidance on how universities use Personal Statements, GCSEs and predicted grades, and how they monitor the use of AI in applications were incredibly valuable. Students particularly enjoyed having to rate different sample Statements.
His visit is part of our Year 12 programme for Universities, following on from the UCAS Information Evening last week. In the coming days, students will be allocated their Personal Statement Mentors who will guide them in their subject specialist preparation for the applications they will start in the Summer Term.
