Last Saturday our Year 9 French students enjoyed a fantastic day trip to Lille on the Eurostar.

We enjoyed a visit at the Musée des Beaux Arts where we admired paintings from Monet, Matisse or Chagall (amongst others). After a busy morning, we had lunch in a typical French brasserie, where we tried typical food such as Carbonnade Flamande or Welsh. Of course, we made time for shopping on the Grande Place and were excited to taste waffles at Meert, one of the oldest shops in Lille.

We ended our day in the Westfield Euralille shopping centre which proved very popular with the girls as they were able to try out their French language skills in their favourite shops!
