by TES (Times Educational Supplement)

When awarding Notting Hill & Ealing High School Senior School of the Year, the lead judge said: “the school demonstrates how it builds leadership opportunities into almost every aspect of school life, describing vividly how unafraid the school is in allowing its girls to decide what matters to them, building their confidence, providing the skills they need to find their voice and, ultimately, lead from the front.”

School of the Year Creativity 2020

by TES (Times Educational Supplement)

When presenting the school with the award for Creativity, the lead judge said: “Notting Hill & Ealing High School has put together an exciting programme that is compelling, coherent and relevant to students’ lives. The emphasis on risk is well conceived, and the programme is detailed, imaginative, and importantly, treats the students with intellectual respect. A quick look at the school’s website also demonstrates that this school is not afraid to give its students a clear, unfettered, independent voice of their own.”

Best of the Best for Pupil Ideas

As featured in The Week’s highly acclaimed Guide to the UK’s leading independent Senior Schools 2021 with the following comment:

“This high-achieving west London girls’ school is teeming with ideas, many of them generated by the pupils themselves. When a Year 11 student heard about NHS workers suffering from anxiety and depression during lockdown she launched a whole-school letter-writing initiative, which resulted in girls writing more than 850 letters of gratitude to Ealing Hospital staff. Pupils also created artwork, songs and recordings to spark conversations with care home residents whose families were unable to visit them and a Year 9 girl designed a trail of sporty scarecrows to inspire the community to get active. Before the pandemic, Sixth Formers organised a three-day festival to champion women in the film industry.”

Best of the Best for Innovation

As featured in The Week’s highly acclaimed Guide to the UK’s leading prep schools 2023 with the following comment:

This high achieving girls’ day school in west London prides itself on being ahead of the curve with its “integrated curriculum” – known as IC. At the beginning of every term, pupils in years 1 to 6 are given a topic (anything from Out of Africa to Swords and Sandals) which they study across the curriculum, in English and Humanities through to Science and Art. Along the way they develop knowledge and skills, learning how to research, analyse results and interpret and present information. “It allows girls to make connections in their learning and engage them in relevant, meaningful activities that can be connected to real life,” says the school.

Best of the Best for STEM

As featured in The Week’s highly acclaimed Guide to the UK’s leading prep schools 2021 with the following comment:

“STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects are hugely popular at this all-girls’ west London school. The teaching is exciting and engaging – whether it’s Year 4s using their knowledge of electrical circuits to create robots or Year 6s imagining themselves in the First World War and working out the best way to purify water if they were in the trenches. There’s also a Year 6 science leadership programme where young scientists work as lab technicians, looking after the school’s stick insects and setting up equipment for the rest of the school.”

“We all really look forward to our science lessons – we never quite know what we’ll be learning about next.”
