"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Charities Update – September 2023

We have been very excited to start on our volunteering and charitable activities straightaway this term. Last year we supported over 25 charities, raising over £18,000, and volunteered with 18 organisations. We are looking forward to developing our links with these organisations this year.

On Friday 22nd September, in support of the school’s Ealing Half Marathon team, students are invited to come to school wearing sportswear. We request that students donate £1 towards the work of the Log Cabin charity in Northfields Avenue, Ealing. Students can either give their money to their form tutor or pay on the Just Giving page here.

On Sunday 24th September our parent-staff team will be taking on the hills of Ealing and running the Ealing Half Marathon to raise funds for the Log Cabin. Do watch out for them en route and give them a good cheer! We will be manning a table outside school supporting our team too. Any donations towards this fantastic cause would be most welcome here.

Next Friday we will be taking part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning. We are inviting students to bake cakes (nut free) to sell at the sale and bring in money to buy cakes and drinks, with all money being donated to the charity.

We continue to develop our links with local care homes as well as the hotel in Hayes supported by Care 4 Calais, which we will be visiting next week. We are looking to collect good condition board games which are no longer needed suitable for older people with symptoms of dementia and children with English as an additional language. Examples could be: Jenga, Ludo, Guess Who, Connect 4, Frustration, chess.

On Friday 6th October, we will be holding our school harvest festival. Form groups will collect food and sanitary products which will be donated to the Ealing food bank and a NHEHS student created charity, Sanitation4Sisters. Students will be provided with a list of suggested items nearer the time. There will be prizes available to form groups who collect the most items or for the most creative display!

Year 10 and 11 enrichment volunteers were introduced to their upcoming activities last week while Year 11 are busy planning their charity events for this half of term having chosen their charity – Action Breaks Silence. They have planned two bake sales, a film event, staff v student event and a lollipop delivery service.  Watch this space!
