"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Charities Update for November 2023

The Log Cabin

We are delighted to announce that our NHEHS charity Christmas cards are now on sale on Parentpay.  Our ‘Christmas Robin’ card designed by Petra M in Year 8 is available in packs of 6 for £4.10. All money raised will go to the Log Cabin charity in Northfields Avenue. Please purchase your cards early to avoid disappointment. We will also be selling Christmas cards at the fair alongside the last few remaining Beanie babies, again all for the Log Cabin.

Also in aid of the Log Cabin we will be holding our annual and much anticipated Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 14th December when all students are encouraged to wear a festive jumper over their school uniform for a £1 donation. Donations can either be handed into form tutors on the day or paid via the Just Giving link here.

Care 4 Calais

Our charities craft team of Year 10-13 students will be visiting the hotel in Hayes, supported by C4C, to hold a Christmas party for the children living there. We have asked students in the senior school to help create a small gift bag for each child by December 5th which will be distributed at the party. Each form group will be responsible for several of the gift bags. Suggested items are small toys, hair accessories, pens, sweets, stickers etc. We are also asking for a 20p donation per student towards the cost of the bags.

Age UK

Our volunteers will be carol singing at Age UK Ealing to bring in some festive cheer. We are also sending some Sixth Form volunteers and one of the Year 10 enrichment groups to assist Age UK with their annual hamper packing activity. At Age UK’s centre volunteers will help to sort items and wrap gifts for the 120 hampers destined for older members of our community. Age UK, together with residents of some of our local care homes which we visit, will also be receiving Christmas cards made by our Year 7 and 8s in formtime.

Year 10 Charity Half Term for Unicef

Year 10 have made a great start to their half term of fundraising for their chosen charity, Unicef for the children of Sudan and the Middle East, with several festive events including two bake sales, a candy cane delivery, a Gingerbread man decorating session and a Christmas fair!

We are also looking forward to Christmas themed craft and carols at Chestnut Lodge care home on 5th December and Mencap will be coming in for a Christmas fair again run by the Year 10s on 12th December.

Finally continuing the festive theme, one of the Year 10 enrichment groups helped with painting the set and giving out leaflets for the Questors’ Theatre pantomime of Treasure Island which is running this December.

Thank you for your continued support.
