"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Eco Week at NHEHS

It’s Eco Week here at Notting Hill with both our Junior and Senior Schools getting involved.

Each form from Year 7-11 has their own Eco Rep. The Year 7 and 8 Eco Reps will working with the senior eco reps to plan for Eco Day on Friday 15th. As part of this they will be taking part in an Eco Workshop led by Year 13 Eco Rep Sophie, where they will be brainstorming ideas on how to reduce our carbon footprint at school, discussing the best eco tips and then will present the suggestions back to their forms later in the week.

On Wednesday it’s over to our Juniors who will be wearing green clothes at school and donating money towards The Felix Project, which tackles food waste and food poverty. They help to feed local communities in London by rescuing surplus food from the food industry and delivering it to almost 1000 front-line charities, primary schools and holiday programmes in London.

On Thursday and Friday we will be holding Eco themed Bake Sales at break time, with donations also going to The Felix Project. In addition, we’ll be asking girls taking part to sign their own eco pledges of what they can do to help the environment.

After half term, our Sixth Formers are planning a clothes swap.

We are also working towards gaining our TFL Stars Gold Award for clean travel in schools and environmental awareness which we hope to achieve by next summer.
